HIGHROAD / CAR SHIPPING GUIDE
Vehicle shipping across the U.S.
And across the Pacific.
Request transport throughout the contiguous 48 states and Hawaii. Tell us the exact locations, vehicle, and pickup window so we can discuss the route, equipment, and handoff requirements. Alaska is not currently served.

Where does Highroad offer vehicle shipping?
We accept shipping requests in all 48 contiguous states and Hawaii; we do not currently serve Alaska. Use the actual pickup and delivery ZIP codes so we can discuss the route and access. Nationwide coverage does not mean identical equipment, prices, or schedules at every address.
Within-state moves, interstate relocations, seasonal trips, and out-of-state purchases can all start with the same form. Tell us whether each location is a home, dealership, auction, workplace, storage yard, or terminal.

Planning common U.S. shipping situations
These are planning examples, not claims of scheduled routes, completed shipments, or local depots. Availability is confirmed for your exact request.
New York or Boston to Miami, Orlando, or Tampa
For a seasonal stay, provide departure and arrival dates separately. Tell us about a condo’s receiving rules, a gated community, or a receiving contact who arrives after you.
Los Angeles or San Diego to New York or New Jersey
A cross-country request needs a realistic receiving window. A Manhattan street, New Jersey dealership, and suburban driveway can involve different truck-access arrangements.
Dallas or Houston to Atlanta or Jacksonville
For a job move or vehicle purchase, confirm who releases the car and who can accept it. Include pickup hours and whether the vehicle is ready to leave.
Chicago to Phoenix or Las Vegas
Tell us about garage access, winter departure conditions, and any date when the destination becomes available. Do not plan a flight or rental-car return around an unconfirmed delivery day.

Urban streets, rural addresses, and gated pickup points
The exact address can matter as much as the city. An auto carrier needs suitable approach, turning, parking, and loading space. Narrow streets, low-clearance entrances, restricted parking, and steep driveways may require a nearby accessible handoff.
For a rural property, describe the road surface and whether a large truck can turn safely. For an apartment, workplace, or gated community, check whether management permits commercial vehicle loading. For a base or campus, ask the location about access rules; do not assume the driver can enter.
Share these details in the notes field. Do not independently choose an unsafe roadside meeting point.

How does shipping a car to Hawaii differ?
A Hawaii shipment includes ocean transport, which has separate receiving dates, acceptance rules, documentation, and terminal procedures. Tell us the origin or destination island and whether you need mainland pickup or delivery in addition to the ocean leg.
For example, a request from Orlando to Honolulu needs more planning than simply naming two ZIP codes: discuss the mainland road leg, the approved departure terminal, vessel availability, and how the vehicle will be collected on Oahu. An island destination outside Oahu can involve additional arrangements. Confirm the itinerary rather than assuming a particular port or sailing.
Ask what documents are required for your direction of travel, whether a financed or leased vehicle needs authorization, how drop-off and collection are handled, and what storage charges apply if collection is late. Requirements can differ for mainland-to-Hawaii and Hawaii-to-mainland shipments.

Can an EV or plug-in hybrid ship to Hawaii?
Acceptance depends on the ocean carrier, vehicle, and current rules; request a check before planning around the shipment. At the October 9, 2026 review, Matson’s published FAQ states that EVs and plug-in hybrids are not accepted. Pasha Hawaii’s FAQ lists conditional acceptance, including restrictions on inoperable EVs and how the owner books them.
These are examples of differing carrier policies—not a promise that either company will handle your request. Give the exact model and condition, and confirm the current acceptance and booking process before committing to travel or terminal delivery. Do not send a damaged or inoperable EV to a terminal without explicit acceptance.

Can you give a realistic plan for my specific U.S. route?
Yes—request an assessment using the actual endpoints and dates, rather than only two state names. Los Angeles-to-New York needs clarification of the New York receiving location; Texas-to-Florida could involve a Houston dealer and a gated Naples property. Rural approaches, appointment-only sellers, and limited receiving hours can matter alongside distance.
Tell us which constraints are fixed and which are flexible. We do not publish unsupported daily departures or guaranteed lane times. Highway names can describe geography, but they do not establish the route the assigned carrier will take. The quote discussion should focus on access, readiness, and the milestones available for the actual shipment.
What should I say if my move involves Hawaii or another country?
Identify the island or country and every transport leg you need. A U.S. address-to-terminal move, ocean shipment, terminal collection, and final delivery are separate scope items. Ask who handles each leg and which costs and dates are included.
For Hawaii, specify the island, vehicle powertrain, condition, and direction of travel. For an overseas request, identify destination eligibility and document responsibilities before booking. Read the Hawaii guide or overseas guide; a destination mentioned in an inquiry is not a confirmed shipping option. Alaska remains outside our coverage.
